The INCIRCULAR cascade-funded projects have successfully concluded
The INCIRCULAR cascade funding scheme officially concluded in February 2026, marking the completion of a 12-month implementation period for the third-party projects. Through this action, INCIRCULAR provided targeted funding to enable SMEs in Spain, Slovenia and France to develop and demonstrate solutions that help accelerate the transition towards more circular plastics value chains. These solutions range from improved identification and sorting to more efficient processing and digital optimisation in manufacturing. The funded projects delivered a variety of practical innovations, such as AI-enabled plastic identification and sorting, sensor-based classification (e.g. NIR/multispectral), IoT and machine learning for monitoring injection moulding processes, and improved wear-resistant knife technologies for enhanced shredding performance.

The INCIRCULAR project is hosting its third cross-regional networking event
INCIRCULAR will hold its third emulation session, “The Present and Future of Circular Plastics in Europe: From industrial demonstration to interregional scale-up”, on 16 April 2026 at the SISE facilities in Oyonnax, France, with the option to participate online. The event will bring together clusters, SMEs, policymakers and industry stakeholders to explore how circular plastics solutions can transition from successful industrial demonstrations to scalable, market-ready models. Discussions will highlight interregional cooperation, technology transfer and investment pathways, complemented by practical case studies and results from INCIRCULAR-funded SME projects.
