Polymeris strengthens its European and International team
Polymeris is strengthening its European and international positioning by setting up a new organization dedicated to advanced materials. Starting in October 2025, the division will coordinate the new Eurocluster Mat4EU, while consolidating its Europe & International team under the leadership of Roxane Girard. This dynamic is in line with the successes achieved since 2023, with more than €6 million in European funding and national recognition through the 2024 AFPC Europe Award.
A strategic location in the heart of Europe
For several years now, Polymeris has established itself as a key player in Europe in the field of advanced materials, thanks to its coordination of major projects such as AMULET (Innosup-1, 2021), POLREC Eurocluster (2022), and EDIH Polytronics (2022), which alone represent more than €12 million in funding. This has led the cluster to become one of the players involved in the creation and structuring of IAM-I, the Advanced Materials 2030 initiative.
From October 1, 2025, Polymeris will further strengthen its leadership by coordinating the new Eurocluster Mat4EU, dedicated to advanced materials for a circular and sustainable industry and bringing together key partners in this field in Germany, Spain, Lithuania, Poland, and Denmark.
A consolidated and strengthened Europe & International team
Since Polymeris was founded in 2021, the internal team has continued to grow under the leadership of Annabelle SION, who will soon be leaving her position to pursue other professional projects. The President of the cluster, Joël VIRY, would like to commend her work: "Annabelle's arrival in October 2019 marked a turning point in the development of our European strategy. Thanks to her work and commitment, Polymeris' European funding has increased fivefold and now represents 30% of the cluster's budget. This performance illustrates the strength of our position at the European level and confirms Polymeris's key role in supporting its members in their pursuit of innovation and competitiveness."
A new organization will be put in place starting in October 2025:
- Roxane Girard takes over as Head of Europe & International. Arriving in 2022, she holds a Master's degree in European Affairs from the IEP in Lyon. She will continue the strategy implemented at European and international level and will draw on the experience gained within the team.
- The team will be organized around four areas of expertise and services:
- European projects and technological cooperation
- Interclustering and international partnerships
- International actions and export support
- Services from European networks
In this context, the Europe & International team, composed of six dedicated individuals and drawing on the technical expertise of all the division's employees, will step up its actions and services to our members in setting up collaborative projects, integrating them into international consortia and providing them with access to European funding, as well as supporting the implementation of international technological or business partnerships.
Tangible results for members since 2023
Thanks to this structure, Polymeris has achieved impressive results:
- + 30 European projects submitted,
- + 10 projects won,
- around 40 members supported in their financing efforts,
- + €6 million in financing obtained for the cluster and its members.
In recent months alone, 16 member companies have benefited directly from European funding thanks to cascade financing mechanisms, and around ten members have joined major European consortia.
A recognized and acclaimed dynamic
This strategic positioning was rewarded with the AFPC Europe 2024 “Success Story” Award, which recognized Polymeris for its exemplary role in supporting its members in Europe.
Annabelle Sion's departure therefore marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new dynamic: she leaves behind a strong team, ready to take on the European and international challenges of the coming years.
